Other sizes in this construction

Same build, different width or length. Mixed sizes in one carton are fine.

About this product

Specialty hook and loop for environments where the standard nylon grade fails: heat, flame, UV or chemical exposure. Supplied 10-150 mm wide in a stock colour. Stock widths are slit in one millimetre steps, so the size on your drawing is normally a slitting instruction rather than a new tool. Tell us the width and the put-up and the quote is against a stock construction.

Where it is used

Typical work is automotive interior trim, electrical and electronic enclosures, protective clothing and welding environments, and outdoor equipment that sits in UV for years. Each of those is a different construction, not a different price point.

Ordering

Width, colour and put-up are set per order, so a mixed carton is normal rather than an exception. Minimum order is 500 m stock colour / 3,000 m dyed, and the master roll exists after the first run, which means a repeat order on the same construction does not add lead time.

How to specify it

Tell us how the part is applied — by hand, by a laminator, or by a pick-and-place head. The answer changes the liner, the index pitch and sometimes the adhesive, and it costs nothing to specify it at the quote stage rather than after the first run.

Quality control

Incoming yarn is checked for denier and colour before weaving, and the finished roll is measured at the core and at the outside. A slitting drift shows up at one end long before it shows up in the middle, which is why both ends are measured.

Packing and shipping

We ship the lot report inside the carton and by email, so the paperwork is with the goods and with your QA inbox at the same time. Certificates are issued per lot, not per year.

If the width is not settled, send the drawing or the part it has to hold and we will suggest the narrowest width that does the job. Narrower is cheaper and follows a radius better; wider only helps where a large flat face has to stay down.

Ordering and shipping

  • Sold by the roll, carton or pallet — mixed widths allowed.
  • EXW Xiamen, FOB or CIF to your port.
  • T/T 30% deposit, balance against copy of B/L.
  • Sample orders ship by courier in 7 days.

Choosing this construction

Specify against the standard your customer audits, not against the word "specialty". FMVSS 302, UL94 V-2 and inherent aramid are three different tests with three different price points, and only one of them is the one you need.

Common questions

What is 25 mm hook and loop used for?

At 25 mm this construction is normally specified for furniture trim, panel fixing, mid-weight strap assemblies and equipment covers. The width does not change the peel per unit width much, but narrower tape engages fewer hooks at the edge, which is where peeling starts — so if the joint opens repeatedly, go up one width rather than up one grade.

Which flame standard applies to my product?

Car interiors are tested to FMVSS 302; electrical and electronic enclosures to UL94 V-2; protective clothing and welding environments normally need inherently flame-resistant meta-aramid rather than an additive. Tell us the standard your customer audits and we will quote the construction that meets it — and only that one.

Do you supply the test report with the goods?

Yes, issued against the production lot, naming the standard, the lab and the result. If a supplier offers a generic PDF with no lot reference, it will not survive an audit.

What is the minimum order and lead time?

Minimum order for this item is 500 m stock colour / 3,000 m dyed. Production runs 15–25 days after sample approval, with samples typically shipped in 7 days.
