About this product

Reference priceUS$0.06 – 0.85 / mFOB Xiamen · varies with width and order quantity

This is the roll-goods version of hook and loop strap: 16 mm, Black, held to plus or minus 0.5 mm at both the core and the outside of the roll. At 16 mm this is a narrow build. It follows a tight radius and sits flat on small parts, but the engaged area at the edge is small, so it is not the width to pick where the joint is opened under load every day.

Where it is used

It is used by bag and case makers, furniture producers, automotive tier suppliers and packaging converters. If you run a fixed guide, ask for the width measured at the core and at the outside of the roll on the lot report — that is where a slitting drift shows up first.

Ordering

We quote EXW, FOB and CIF on the same sheet so you can compare against your forwarder rather than against our freight. Payment is 30 percent deposit with the balance against a copy of the bill of lading.

How to specify it

The put-up matters as much as the width. A 25 m roll on a 38 mm core will not fit a mandrel built for 76 mm cores, and a kiss-cut part packed flat behaves differently on a dispenser than the same part wound on a roll.

Quality control

Incoming yarn is checked for denier and colour before weaving, and the finished roll is measured at the core and at the outside. A slitting drift shows up at one end long before it shows up in the middle, which is why both ends are measured.

Packing and shipping

Made-up straps and die-cut parts ship counted and bagged by size, with the count marked on the bag rather than only on the carton. That is the difference between a receiving check that takes ten minutes and one that takes a morning.

Send the width, the colour and the application and we will quote against a real construction rather than a catalogue range. If you are comparing two suppliers, send both quotes and we will tell you which line item is the one that will move.

Ordering and shipping

  • Sold by the roll, carton or pallet — mixed widths allowed.
  • EXW Xiamen, FOB or CIF to your port.
  • T/T 30% deposit, balance against copy of B/L.
  • Sample orders ship by courier in 7 days.

Choosing this construction

Bulk rolls are for converters who slit, coat or die-cut downstream. Check the splice count and the width tolerance at both ends of the roll before you build a line around it — a roll that measures 25 mm at the start and 24.4 mm at the end will jam a fixed guide.

Common questions

What is 16 mm hook and loop used for?

At 16 mm this construction is normally specified for cable bundling, apparel closures, small adjustable straps and light packaging. The width does not change the peel per unit width much, but narrower tape engages fewer hooks at the edge, which is where peeling starts — so if the joint opens repeatedly, go up one width rather than up one grade.

Are the rolls spliced?

No. Standard 25 m rolls are splice-free, and the width is held within ±0.5 mm at both ends. If you are running a fixed guide or a slitter, ask for the width measured at the core and at the outside of the roll on the lot report.

Can you slit to a width that is not on the list?

Yes, from 10 mm up to 150 mm in 1 mm steps. Slitting runs on a tension-controlled line at the mill, so a custom width does not add lead time once the master roll exists.

What is the minimum order and lead time?

Minimum order for this item is 500 m stock colour / 3,000 m dyed. Production runs 15–25 days after sample approval, with samples typically shipped in 7 days.
