About this product

Master-roll hook and loop tape at 10-150 mm in a stock colour, supplied unlined or with a release liner, for customers who slit, laminate or die-cut in-house. Stock widths are slit in one millimetre steps, so the size on your drawing is normally a slitting instruction rather than a new tool. Tell us the width and the put-up and the quote is against a stock construction.

Where it is used

It is specified where the width is not final: a converter buys one master width and slits to what the order needs, which is cheaper than holding six finished widths in stock and cheaper again than paying a slitting charge on every replenishment.

Ordering

Custom widths are slit from the master roll in one millimetre steps from 10 mm to 150 mm, held to plus or minus 0.5 mm. If the width is not on the list, it is a slitting instruction, not a new tool.

How to specify it

Tell us how the part is applied — by hand, by a laminator, or by a pick-and-place head. The answer changes the liner, the index pitch and sometimes the adhesive, and it costs nothing to specify it at the quote stage rather than after the first run.

Quality control

Aesthetics are inspected on the full roll, not on a cut sample: weft skew, oil marks and hook damage are all visible at speed and all of them are reject criteria if your line is automated.

Packing and shipping

We ship the lot report inside the carton and by email, so the paperwork is with the goods and with your QA inbox at the same time. Certificates are issued per lot, not per year.

Send the annual volume with the first enquiry, even if it is a range. Volume changes the put-up, the slitting plan and sometimes the yarn, and the same construction quoted at 500 m and at 50,000 m is not the same job.

Choosing this construction

Bulk rolls are for converters who slit, coat or die-cut downstream. Check the splice count and the width tolerance at both ends of the roll before you build a line around it — a roll that measures 25 mm at the start and 24.4 mm at the end will jam a fixed guide.

Common questions

What is 25 mm hook and loop used for?

At 25 mm this construction is normally specified for furniture trim, panel fixing, mid-weight strap assemblies and equipment covers. The width does not change the peel per unit width much, but narrower tape engages fewer hooks at the edge, which is where peeling starts — so if the joint opens repeatedly, go up one width rather than up one grade.

Are the rolls spliced?

No. Standard 25 m rolls are splice-free, and the width is held within ±0.5 mm at both ends. If you are running a fixed guide or a slitter, ask for the width measured at the core and at the outside of the roll on the lot report.

Can you slit to a width that is not on the list?

Yes, from 10 mm up to 150 mm in 1 mm steps. Slitting runs on a tension-controlled line at the mill, so a custom width does not add lead time once the master roll exists.

What is the minimum order and lead time?
