About this product

This is the mounting version of self-adhesive hook and loop tape — no stitching, no rivets, applied by hand or by a laminator. 25 mm, a stock colour, with a heavy-tack acrylic that grips porous and painted surfaces. 25 mm is the width most often specified for closures and light bundling. It carries a normal seam allowance on both sides, so it can be stitched or stapled without the edge fraying into the stitch line.

Where it is used

Typical work is fixing panels, signs, trim and access covers to metal, painted board, glass and most plastics. What decides success is the substrate, not the tape: powder coat and acrylic hold well, polypropylene and polyethylene have too little surface energy and will release under load.

Ordering

Width, colour and put-up are set per order, so a mixed carton is normal rather than an exception. Minimum order is 500 m stock colour / 3,000 m dyed, and the master roll exists after the first run, which means a repeat order on the same construction does not add lead time.

How to specify it

The put-up matters as much as the width. A 25 m roll on a 38 mm core will not fit a mandrel built for 76 mm cores, and a kiss-cut part packed flat behaves differently on a dispenser than the same part wound on a roll.

Quality control

Every lot is checked before it leaves Fujian: width at three points along the roll, peel against the agreed window, and colour against the approved standard under D65 light. The lot report ships with the goods and names the result rather than just the specification.

Packing and shipping

Pallets are built to a 1,100 mm footprint and strapped, with corner boards on export shipments. If your warehouse takes a different pallet, say so at the quote stage — re-palletising at the port is charged by the hour.

Send the annual volume with the first enquiry, even if it is a range. Volume changes the put-up, the slitting plan and sometimes the yarn, and the same construction quoted at 500 m and at 50,000 m is not the same job.

Choosing this construction

The adhesive decides whether this product works, not the hook. Clean and dry the surface, apply with a roller at roughly 10 N/cm², and leave it 24 hours before loading — peel measured immediately after application reads about 60% of its final value. On polypropylene, polyethylene or heavy powder coat, test a sample first or specify the rubber version.

Common questions

What is 25 mm hook and loop used for?

At 25 mm this construction is normally specified for furniture trim, panel fixing, mid-weight strap assemblies and equipment covers. The width does not change the peel per unit width much, but narrower tape engages fewer hooks at the edge, which is where peeling starts — so if the joint opens repeatedly, go up one width rather than up one grade.

Will it stick to plastic crates or powder-coated metal?

Powder coat usually works with the heavy-tack acrylic, applied with firm roller pressure. Polypropylene and polyethylene have very low surface energy and are the most common field failure — test a sample on the actual substrate before production, or ask us to quote the rubber adhesive version.

How long before I can load it?

Twenty-four hours at room temperature for full strength. Peel measured twenty minutes after application is typically 55–65% of the final value, so a QC pull test done straight off the line will always read low and is not a valid reject criterion.
