This is the mounting version of self-adhesive hook and loop tape — no stitching, no rivets, applied by hand or by a laminator. 10-150 mm, a stock colour, with a heavy-tack acrylic that grips porous and painted surfaces. Stock widths are slit in one millimetre steps, so the size on your drawing is normally a slitting instruction rather than a new tool. Tell us the width and the put-up and the quote is against a stock construction.
Where it is used
It is specified where drilling is not allowed: heritage interiors, rented equipment, temporary structures, and electronics enclosures where a fastener would breach the seal. Heat resistance is the limiting factor on most of these jobs, not peel strength.
Ordering
Custom widths are slit from the master roll in one millimetre steps from 10 mm to 150 mm, held to plus or minus 0.5 mm. If the width is not on the list, it is a slitting instruction, not a new tool.
How to specify it
Tell us how the part is applied — by hand, by a laminator, or by a pick-and-place head. The answer changes the liner, the index pitch and sometimes the adhesive, and it costs nothing to specify it at the quote stage rather than after the first run.
Quality control
Colour is matched to a retained standard under D65, not to a screen. Metamerism is real: a black that matches under office light can read green under daylight, which is why the approved standard is a physical swatch rather than a photograph.
Packing and shipping
Packing is poly bag plus carton as standard. For humid destinations we add a desiccant and a moisture-barrier bag, because a nylon roll that takes up water in transit will measure wide on arrival and settle back a week later.
If this is a repeat of an existing part, send the drawing or the previous lot number and we will match the construction rather than re-specify it. Re-specifying a part that already works is how a working assembly picks up a new failure mode.

Choosing this construction
The adhesive decides whether this product works, not the hook. Clean and dry the surface, apply with a roller at roughly 10 N/cm², and leave it 24 hours before loading — peel measured immediately after application reads about 60% of its final value. On polypropylene, polyethylene or heavy powder coat, test a sample first or specify the rubber version.
Common questions
What is 25 mm hook and loop used for?
At 25 mm this construction is normally specified for furniture trim, panel fixing, mid-weight strap assemblies and equipment covers. The width does not change the peel per unit width much, but narrower tape engages fewer hooks at the edge, which is where peeling starts — so if the joint opens repeatedly, go up one width rather than up one grade.
Will it stick to plastic crates or powder-coated metal?
Powder coat usually works with the heavy-tack acrylic, applied with firm roller pressure. Polypropylene and polyethylene have very low surface energy and are the most common field failure — test a sample on the actual substrate before production, or ask us to quote the rubber adhesive version.
How long before I can load it?
Twenty-four hours at room temperature for full strength. Peel measured twenty minutes after application is typically 55–65% of the final value, so a QC pull test done straight off the line will always read low and is not a valid reject criterion.
