Peel-and-stick self-adhesive hook and loop tape: a woven hook and loop face on an acrylic adhesive, supplied 10-150 mm wide in a stock colour on a release liner that runs the full length of the roll. Stock widths are slit in one millimetre steps, so the size on your drawing is normally a slitting instruction rather than a new tool. Tell us the width and the put-up and the quote is against a stock construction.
Where it is used
Typical uses are mounting pads on equipment, hook and loop strips inside cases and drawers, and die-cut parts that are applied by hand on a bench. For a repeat assembly, ask for kiss-cut parts on a continuous liner so the operator peels and places in one motion.
Ordering
Order quantity is quoted in metres or pieces depending on the construction, and we will convert between them if your system counts the other way. Mixed widths on one purchase order are handled as separate lines with a shared lead time.
How to specify it
For a first order we normally send a cut sample at your width plus the lot report from the run it came from. That way the sample and the bulk goods are the same construction, which is not always true when a sample comes from a different mill.
Quality control
Peel is tested on the finished lot, not on a sample kept from the previous run. If your incoming inspection uses a different pull speed or a different dwell time, tell us and we will match it so the two numbers are comparable.
Packing and shipping
Made-up straps and die-cut parts ship counted and bagged by size, with the count marked on the bag rather than only on the carton. That is the difference between a receiving check that takes ten minutes and one that takes a morning.
Send the annual volume with the first enquiry, even if it is a range. Volume changes the put-up, the slitting plan and sometimes the yarn, and the same construction quoted at 500 m and at 50,000 m is not the same job.

Choosing this construction
The adhesive decides whether this product works, not the hook. Clean and dry the surface, apply with a roller at roughly 10 N/cm², and leave it 24 hours before loading — peel measured immediately after application reads about 60% of its final value. On polypropylene, polyethylene or heavy powder coat, test a sample first or specify the rubber version.
Common questions
What is 25 mm hook and loop used for?
At 25 mm this construction is normally specified for furniture trim, panel fixing, mid-weight strap assemblies and equipment covers. The width does not change the peel per unit width much, but narrower tape engages fewer hooks at the edge, which is where peeling starts — so if the joint opens repeatedly, go up one width rather than up one grade.
Will it stick to plastic crates or powder-coated metal?
Powder coat usually works with the heavy-tack acrylic, applied with firm roller pressure. Polypropylene and polyethylene have very low surface energy and are the most common field failure — test a sample on the actual substrate before production, or ask us to quote the rubber adhesive version.
How long before I can load it?
Twenty-four hours at room temperature for full strength. Peel measured twenty minutes after application is typically 55–65% of the final value, so a QC pull test done straight off the line will always read low and is not a valid reject criterion.
