About this product

A hook and loop strap at 10-150 mm in a stock colour, built for repeated opening by hand. The hook face is sized to the loop face so the strap does not over-travel and leave a bare hook edge exposed. Stock widths are slit in one millimetre steps, so the size on your drawing is normally a slitting instruction rather than a new tool. Tell us the width and the put-up and the quote is against a stock construction.

Where it is used

It is specified wherever a cable tie would be cut off and thrown away: server racks, AV installs, hire equipment, and any closed-loop packaging scheme. Colours are matched to the equipment so a missing strap is visible at a glance.

Ordering

Custom widths are slit from the master roll in one millimetre steps from 10 mm to 150 mm, held to plus or minus 0.5 mm. If the width is not on the list, it is a slitting instruction, not a new tool.

How to specify it

The put-up matters as much as the width. A 25 m roll on a 38 mm core will not fit a mandrel built for 76 mm cores, and a kiss-cut part packed flat behaves differently on a dispenser than the same part wound on a roll.

Quality control

Peel is tested on the finished lot, not on a sample kept from the previous run. If your incoming inspection uses a different pull speed or a different dwell time, tell us and we will match it so the two numbers are comparable.

Packing and shipping

Packing is poly bag plus carton as standard. For humid destinations we add a desiccant and a moisture-barrier bag, because a nylon roll that takes up water in transit will measure wide on arrival and settle back a week later.

Send the annual volume with the first enquiry, even if it is a range. Volume changes the put-up, the slitting plan and sometimes the yarn, and the same construction quoted at 500 m and at 50,000 m is not the same job.

Ordering and shipping

  • Sold by the roll, carton or pallet — mixed widths allowed.
  • EXW Xiamen, FOB or CIF to your port.
  • T/T 30% deposit, balance against copy of B/L.
  • Sample orders ship by courier in 7 days.

Choosing this construction

Match the strap to what it wraps, not to the load alone. Bundles under 30 mm do better with 12–16 mm ties, cable runs and tool handles with 20–25 mm, and anything carrying weight with 38 mm and a buckle rather than a tie. A strap that is too wide will not cinch tight enough to stop movement.

Common questions

What is 25 mm hook and loop used for?

At 25 mm this construction is normally specified for furniture trim, panel fixing, mid-weight strap assemblies and equipment covers. The width does not change the peel per unit width much, but narrower tape engages fewer hooks at the edge, which is where peeling starts — so if the joint opens repeatedly, go up one width rather than up one grade.

Buckle or tie — which one?

A tie is faster to fit and cheaper, and is right for anything a technician opens daily. A buckle holds tension better and is what to specify when the strap has to stay tight under load without being re-adjusted. We supply both from the same webbing.

Can the straps be printed with our logo?

Yes, from 1,000 pieces on woven webbing. Send vector artwork; we will confirm the print area against the strap width before tooling.

What is the minimum order and lead time?

Minimum order for this item is 500 pcs stock colour / 3,000 pcs dyed. Production runs 15–25 days after sample approval, with samples typically shipped in 7 days.
