About this product

Hook and loop tape on the roll, 40 mm wide in Red, for lines that need a consistent web more than they need a finished part. Custom slit widths are cut from the same master, not from a re-bought roll. At 40 mm there is enough engaged area that it behaves as a structural joint rather than a trim. Peel per unit width is unchanged, but the load spreads across the face instead of concentrating at two corners.

Where it is used

Typical uses are high-volume assembly where the tape is applied by machine, and distribution where the roll is re-sold or re-cut. Master rolls are quoted separately from slit rolls because the slitting, not the weaving, sets the price at volume.

Ordering

We quote EXW, FOB and CIF on the same sheet so you can compare against your forwarder rather than against our freight. Payment is 30 percent deposit with the balance against a copy of the bill of lading.

How to specify it

For a first order we normally send a cut sample at your width plus the lot report from the run it came from. That way the sample and the bulk goods are the same construction, which is not always true when a sample comes from a different mill.

Quality control

Each carton is labelled with the lot number, width, colour and quantity, and the lot report references the same number. That is what makes a claim traceable six months later instead of a conversation about photographs.

Packing and shipping

We ship the lot report inside the carton and by email, so the paperwork is with the goods and with your QA inbox at the same time. Certificates are issued per lot, not per year.

Ask for a sample cut to your width; it ships in seven days and it is the fastest way to settle a substrate or colour question. Send the substrate with the request if the bond is the open question, and we will test on your material rather than on ours.

Choosing this construction

Bulk rolls are for converters who slit, coat or die-cut downstream. Check the splice count and the width tolerance at both ends of the roll before you build a line around it — a roll that measures 25 mm at the start and 24.4 mm at the end will jam a fixed guide.

Common questions

What is 40 mm hook and loop used for?

At 40 mm this construction is normally specified for seating, upholstery, automotive trim and load-bearing seams. The width does not change the peel per unit width much, but narrower tape engages fewer hooks at the edge, which is where peeling starts — so if the joint opens repeatedly, go up one width rather than up one grade.

Are the rolls spliced?

No. Standard 25 m rolls are splice-free, and the width is held within ±0.5 mm at both ends. If you are running a fixed guide or a slitter, ask for the width measured at the core and at the outside of the roll on the lot report.

Can you slit to a width that is not on the list?

Yes, from 10 mm up to 150 mm in 1 mm steps. Slitting runs on a tension-controlled line at the mill, so a custom width does not add lead time once the master roll exists.
